About this work
Christ seated, hands bound, is beaten by two soldiers with sticks. A third sits kneeling before Christ and mocks him. In the background Pilate and soldiers. Under the representation a four-line inscription in Latin (Matt. 27). The whole is surrounded by a border containing the instruments of the Passion.
