A whale stranded at Noordwijk, 4 January 1629. The stranded sperm whale lies with its head to the right. Six men are cutting the animal into pieces. In the foreground, many onlookers, including a rider on the right. To the left in the distance, the dunes; to the right, some wagons. In the margin, a four-line verse in Dutch.
