About this work
Athaliah, who heard that her son King Ahaziah was killed, gives orders to kill all the king's children, so that she can become queen. On the steps soldiers kill the children. Left and before the steps in two scenes Ahaziah's son Joash is saved by his aunt. On the steps a reference to the Bible text in 2 Kings 11. At the bottom in the margin a verse in Latin about the scene.
