About this work

Imaginary monument for William III, on a pedestal a bust of the laurelled king. In the background an honour gallery. Around the monument stand Virtue and Religion, in front of the pedestal lies the Dutch lion and Fame blows on her trumpet. Below the scene a verse of three stanzas in Dutch with explanation of the different persons.
