About this work

In a wooded landscape, Venus rides on the left in the foreground with flowing hair in a chariot drawn by two doves. In her left arm she holds Adonis, and behind her Cupid kneels on the chariot. On the right, Diana sleeps among several water nymphs. Weapons lie on the ground. At the bottom, the episode in the story is explained in a four-line French text.
