About this work
In a vast hilly landscape, villagers perform tasks associated with the months of September, October and November: in the foreground livestock is slaughtered, in the background crops are harvested and wood is chopped. Below the scene the title with two lines in Latin on either side. Print from a series of four prints depicting the four seasons, two after Hans Bol and two after Pieter Brueghel I.
