About this work

World map in two hemispheres, with a map of the North Pole above and the South Pole below. In the corners, allegories of the four elements. Top left an allegory of fire, with a battlefield, Cerberus and on the right Pluto with Proserpina. Top right an allegory of air, with Jupiter, Juno and other gods, birds and the zodiac in the sky. Bottom right an allegory of water, with ships at sea and on the left probably Neptune, Amphitrite and Triton. Bottom left an allegory of earth, with a field, hunting scene, goats, Faunus and probably Ceres.
