About this work

In front of the gate of a house, the prodigal son receives his inheritance from his father. He says farewell to his family while sitting on his horse. The horse is held by a young servant. In the background on the right, the prodigal son rides through a forest. The print is part of a four-part series on the parable of the prodigal son.
