About this work

A village fair in honor of St. Sebastian, the patron of the crossbowmen. An inn with the banner of St. Sebastian is depicted in the foreground. There eating, drinking and dancing takes place. Beggars (right) and pickpockets (left) risk their chance. In another inn (right) a fight has broken out between some men. In the background, market stall sellers sell their goods and everywhere various games are going on. In the distance, a procession is going on in front of the church. With inscription in Dutch and French.
