About this work

The Sea Battle at Kamperduin on 11 October 1797 between the Batavian fleet under the command of Vice-Admiral Jan Willem de Winter and a British fleet under Admiral Adam Duncan. At the moment before the surrender to the British. The ship Vrijheid without masts next to a British ship, on the right the Hercules in flames. In the foreground, boats with drowning people. The print also includes a key. See also the pendant.
