About this work

Two representations on one plate. Above: St. Tiburtius of Rome walks over hot coals while a judge addresses him who stands to his left on a raised platform. In the background spectators look on in disbelief. Below: St. Anthony sits in front of his cave in the wilderness. To the right stands a soldier who points to his daughter. The soldier hopes that St. Anthony can heal his daughter possessed by devils.
