About this work
Two scenes on one plate. Above: Christ, seated on a donkey, rides into Jerusalem. Around him people wave palm branches and lay their cloaks on the ground before Christ. Below: Christ stands with his disciples by a withered fig tree. He explains to his apostles that he has cursed the tree because it bore no fruit.
