About this work
Two representations on one sheet. The representation is based on Acts 14:8-11. Above: The apostles Paul and Barnabas in the city of Lystra. In Lystra, the apostle Paul is surrounded by people asking for help or healing. With a gesture Paul heals the feet of the man on crutches before the temple. The assembled crowd watches in admiration. Below: The inhabitants of Lystra think that Paul and Barnabas are gods and bring cattle to the city gate to sacrifice for the two apostles. Paul tries to stop them, while Barnabas tears his clothes.
