About this work
Saint Anthony kneeling before an altar stone with a crucifix, an hourglass, a skull and a stack of books. Devilish and monstrous creatures pull at his garment and harass him in various ways. In front of him the pig. Behind him a finely dressed lady offering him a glass of wine. An old woman with devil's wings tries to tempt him to look at her. Above in the cave a flying little devil playing a jawbone.
