About this work
Allegorical representation with a bust portrait of Lodewijk Napoleon, probably on the occasion of his arrival in the Netherlands in June 1806. His portrait is surrounded by Wisdom, personified by Minerva in armor, and Abundance, with a cornucopia, who scatter food to the people. Justice, with scales, and Truth, with a mirror, drive away Cunning and Falsehood. The whole is framed in an oval. In the margin, the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Holland and a six-line inscription in Dutch.
