About this work

Allegorical representation with a portrait of Louis Napoleon, likely on the occasion of his arrival in the Netherlands in June 1806. His portrait is surrounded by Wisdom, personified by Minerva in armor, and Abundance, with a cornucopia, scattering food to the people. Justice, with scales, and Truth, with a mirror, dispel Cunning and Falsehood. The whole is framed in an oval border. In the margin, the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Holland and a six-line inscription in Dutch.
