About this work

Clothing: The three men wear short balloon-shaped breeches*, short mantle* with passement*; small collar opening at the front. The man in the middle wears a bonnet* with flat dome and narrow brim. Flat shoes* with slits.<BR />Ihle p. 18, no. 41:<BR />Odet, cardinal of Châtillon (1517-1571), Gaspard, admiral of France and father of Louise de Coligny (1519-1572) and Francois, general of the infantry (1521-1569) are dressed in full Spanish attire. Over the doublet they wear a leather jerkin decorated with long slits, a military uniform. Over that they have the wide Spanish mantle with sleeves. Smooth shirt collars and also a collar with ruche. Shoes with slit decoration.
