About this work

God appears in the heavens. The prophet Jeremiah stands with his hand raised and looks up, with a yoke around his neck that God has ordered him to make as a symbol of the yoke of Babylon. On the left, King Zedekiah of Judah on a raised platform. At the bottom of the stairs, the prophet Hananiah, with the help of others, breaks the yoke around Jeremiah's neck into pieces. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Jeremiah 27.
