About this work

To the left in the background, Tobit buries the body of the murdered man whom Tobias found on the street. After the burial, Tobit falls asleep on some sacks of grain. One of the birds in the nest above his head lets its droppings fall into Tobit's eyes, causing him to go blind. In the middle background, he gives clothing to the poor, and to the right, he sits at the feast. At the bottom in the margin, a one-line Latin caption from Tobit 2.
