About this work

Nabal and Abigail sit at Nabal's feast, and Nabal has himself served another drink. On the right in the background is the bed of Nabal and Abigail. After Nabal had slept off his drunkenness, Abigail told him what she had done. Upon hearing this, Nabal died. On the left in the background is the funeral procession, with which Nabal's body is carried away. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 1 Samuel 25.
