About this work
Nabal and Abigail sit at Nabal's feast and Nabal has himself served again. On the right in the background the bed of Nabal and Abigail. After Nabal had slept off his drunkenness, Abigail told him what she had done. On that news Nabal died. On the left in the background the funeral procession, with which the body of Nabal is carried away. Below the image a Latin reference to the Biblical text in 1 Sam. 25.
