About this work

In heaven, Satan asks God if he may test Job. Satan then brings calamity upon Job. Job sits on a dunghill, his skin covered with sores. His wife urges him to curse God, but Job does not. In the background, the raid on Job's livestock is depicted. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Job 2.
