About this work
In the interior of a house, Martha complains to Christ about Mary, who does not help her with the household, but sits with a book on her lap by Christ. Christ answers that Mary has chosen the better part. In the background, Martha at the cooking pot. At the bottom, on a scroll, a reference to the Bible text in Luke 10:41-42 in German.
