About this work

The Polish Jesuit Stanislaus Kostka sits kneeling in a church. He receives Holy Communion (consecrated host and a sip from the chalice) from two angels. Behind them appears Saint Barbara, holding a palm branch in her hands and her attribute, the tower. In the margin a two-line inscription in Latin.
