About this work

Left Moses with the tablets of the law. Right Christ at the cross. At his feet an open Bible, surrounded by the symbols of the four evangelists. Above the Bible the dove of the Holy Spirit. Behind Moses stands Death who pricks the lifeless body of a moon with his spear. The same man is resurrected on the right and prays for the Bible. In the background the preaching of John the Baptist.
