About this work

Allegorical representation with a commemorative obelisk on the occasion of the marriage of Jonas Witsen and Isabella Maria Hooft. To the left and right of the obelisk sit the personifications of Concord and Love. In the center stands a female figure with a large medallion bearing the portrait of a man and woman holding hands. The monument is surrounded by arched hedges, the front one decorated with burning hearts bearing various letters. Above this hedge, two putti hold a medallion with the couple's monogram. On the ground below, two putti sit with two coats of arms.
