About this work
Memorial stone for Willem V, Prince of Orange-Nassau, adorned with a portrait in oval that is laurelled by a putto. To the left and right of the portrait stands an angel with a large ring in her hand, symbol of authority and unity, and a veiled woman with an hourglass and mirror. The base of the monument is decorated with the coat of arms of the prince flanked by two crowned lions. To the left on the ground leans a weeping woman, surrounded by three children, against the base. To the right sits a woman drawing. In the margin stands a four-line text in two columns.
