About this work

The evangelist Mark writes his gospel. Beside him the winged lion. In the background the risen Christ on a globe, at the opening of hell (the gaping mouth of the monster). Further to the left the vision of the prophet Ezekiel of the valley of dry bones. The prophet looks up to God the Father. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
