About this work
The Annunciation to the Virgin Mary. Mary sits at a table with an open book. The angel holds a branch of lilies. Above them, a dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and to the right, winged putti. Surrounding the scene is a rocaille frame. In the lower margin, twice a seven-line German and Latin text.
