Muslim Galley Slaves on Either Side of a Cartouche

The cartouche in the center contains a dedication in Latin and is decorated with the coat of arms of Joannes d'Erasso and two winged female busts. On either side of the cartouche sits an Islamic galley slave in chains with oars under his feet. Behind each of them stands an Islamic galley slave with a musical instrument. The man on the left plays a trumpet and the one on the right a drum. These enslaved men are identifiable as Muslims by the characteristic hairstyle (shaved head except for a tuft) which they were required to have. In the background, cannons and various flags.
