Islamic galley slaves on either side of a cartouche

The cartouche in the center contains a Latin inscription and is decorated with the coat of arms of Joannes d'Erasso and two winged female busts. On either side of the cartouche sits a chained Muslim galley slave with oars under his feet. Behind each of them stands a Muslim galley slave with a musical instrument. The man on the left plays a trumpet and the one on the right a drum. These enslaved men are identifiable as Muslims by the characteristic hairstyle (shaved head except for a tuft) they were required to wear. In the background, cannons and various flags are visible.
