About this work

Bust portrait of Leopold I, in a richly decorated mantle. He is crowned with a laurel wreath and wears a chain with the Order of the Golden Fleece. In his right hand he holds a scepter. The portrait is set in an oval frame on a pedestal. On top of the frame an eagle with a laurel wreath in its beak. On the pedestal an imperial orb, sword, baton of command with a snake and a crown and the coat of arms of the sitter and a three-line inscription in Latin.
