About this work

Portrait of Emperor Charles V, wearing a crown and a richly embroidered, fur-lined mantle. In one hand he holds a large sword, in the other an orb. He stands beside a pedestal on which rests the helmet of his armor. The pedestal is decorated with his coat of arms. The background offers a view of the sea with ships and a dolphin. Above the print, in book type: "Le trentdeuxiesme conte de Flandre" and indication of page number (117) and signature (Q2).
