About this work

Portrait of Matthias of Austria (Holy Roman Emperor). He wears a laurel wreath on his head and a cord with the insignia of the Order of the Golden Fleece around his neck. The portrait is framed by a border decoration with putti, helmets, and a horse harness. In both upper corners, an eagle, in the center his coat of arms. Below the portrait, a pedestal with his name, titles, and a short biography in Latin. Numbered "XI".
