About this work

The treasure hunters of Muiden depart in procession towards the location of the alleged treasure. In front, a man carries a cross, followed by the German swindler with an aspergillum. Illustration of the story of the deception of the superstitious Catholic lieutenant-colonel Dirk Cornelis van der Meulen by a German swindler, in Muiden on the night of August 12-13, 1800. In the margin, a four-line verse.
