About this work

Allegorical monument for Wilhelmina, Princess-Dowager of Orange-Nassau, who died on 9 June 1820. Monument with a funeral urn under a weeping willow. On the grave, two genii wrap a cloth around the urn; another genius stands beside a portrait of the deceased princess. To the right, in a cloud, a putto displays a ribbon with the inscription 'zy leeft Eeuwig' (She lives Eternally). An eight-line verse on the grave.
