About this work

Allegorical monument on the death of Maria Duyst van Voorhout, lady of Renswoude, on 26 April 1754. At the monument, Charity pours a cornucopia filled with riches over three small naked boys, symbolizing the fortune Maria Duyst van Voorhout bequeathed to poor relief (Fundaties van Renswoude). On top of the monument, a portrait bust; in the clouds, Fortune blows her horn.
