About this work
Beside a richly decorated coat of arms sits an allegorical female figure with the horn of plenty (wealth) and the caduceus (peace) in her hands; at her feet lies a scale (justice). Beside her stand two putti with a horn filled with money and an olive branch (respectively symbols of wealth and peace). Behind the female figure stands Mercury, god of trade, with a money bag in his hands. To the left lies a ship moored and a river god looks on. In the air displays the family coat of arms of the Medici, carried by Fame blowing a trumpet and two putti.
