About this work

Christ is presented to the people by Pilate on a podium. Pilate has asked the people whether he should release Christ or Barabbas. The people shout that Barabbas should be released and that Christ should be crucified. Below the image, the title in Latin and a reference to the biblical text in John 19:5.
