About this work

Ornamental frame with a Bible quote from Matt. 25 in Latin and a five-line text in Latin. The frame is flanked by two female personifications. Top left a crane with a raised leg and a stone in its claw as a symbol for vigilance. Top right a nest with hungry, young birds. In the frame at the bottom a vanitas symbol. Title print for a series of seven with the Parable of the Five Wise and the Five Foolish Virgins.
