About this work

Three oval depictions of scenes from the life of Mary and three round depictions of scenes from the Passion narrative. The Marian scenes, at the top, from left to right: Adoration of the Shepherds, Visitation, Adoration of the Magi. The Passion scenes, at the bottom, from left to right: Descent into Limbo, Pentecost, Entombment. This print is part of (the second state of) a series of 13 oval and 7 round depictions with scenes from the Passion narrative and scenes from the life of Mary, distributed over 5 (first state: 3) copper plates. A title print also belongs to this second state of the series (RP-P-1909-2814).
