About this work

Sheet with a large depiction of the application of the new hose fire engines of Jan van der Heyden and Jan van der Heyden the Younger in extinguishing a fire in a building in an imaginary city. At the top two canvases with titles in Dutch and French. At the bottom four small depictions of fires in houses and on a ship, and a model of the pump. Here the legend A-M in Dutch and French. Below the plate a text sheet is pasted with a description in 4 columns in Dutch and French. Belongs to the supplementary prints in the Fire Engine Book by Jan van der Heyden.
