About this work

Sheet with two depictions of religious offerings by the original inhabitants of Florida, possibly the Utina. Above: women sacrifice a firstborn child to the sun. The mother of the child weeps by the altar. The other women dance around the child. Below: men sacrifice a deer to the sun. They have tied the animal to a tree trunk.
