About this work

Sheet with two depictions of rituals of the Khoekhoe, respectively a circumcision and a funeral ceremony. Top: A young man is circumcised. For the occasion, a ram is sacrificed. In the background, an older man urinates on the head of the boy. Bottom: A man is carried to his grave in a hollow. The whole village walks in a procession behind the bearers. Below the depictions, a caption in French.
