Satirical print on the French Revolution

This print satirizes the revolutionary order in France. The roles of horse and rider are reversed: a rider with a horse's head rides a horse with the head of an aristocrat. The reins in the rider's hand hang loose before the neck of the animal. Liberty is thus equated with lawlessness. The free running of the horse is, however, obstructed by a cart with judges and chained equality.
