About this work

The French Admiral. Satirical print on the burning of the French ships by the Dutch and English after the victory in the battle at Cape La Hogue, 29 May to 3 June 1692. Phaëthon falls with the sun chariot from the sky into the sea. In the inscription two verses in French and Dutch.
