Allegory in honor of the Amsterdam mayor Hendrik Danielsz. Hooft. Pillar of a temple with burning torches on the altar of freedom, in the sky a portrait medallion of Hooft carried by angels with trumpets. Probably in connection with Hooft's role as defender of the interests of the Amsterdam citizenry in 1787.
