About this work
The capture of the fortified city of Doesburg by the French armies on June 21, 1672. The print is part of a French series of 28 prints with the conquests of the French king Louis XIV between 1672 and 1678 titled: Grandes Conquêtes du Roi. In an ornamental frame with a plan of the fortifications of the city at the top, further coats of arms, parts of armor, and bound prisoners. At the bottom, a cartouche with an inscription of 6 lines in French.
