About this work

Bust portrait of August Adolf, Baron von Trantorf, in armor. The portrait is set in an oval frame with the sitter's coat of arms and a Latin border inscription. On the pediment, a dove with an olive branch and an owl. Around the frame, various decorations including attributes of Mercury, Apollo, Mars, and Hercules. Print from a series of portraits after paintings by Anselmus van Hulle of all delegates at the peace negotiations in Münster and Osnabrück.
