Satirical print on the fraud with a false balance of the firm C. de Bruyn & Zonen, 1834. The firm owned the first steam sugar refinery on the Lijnbaansgracht in Amsterdam. On 8 January 1834 they were caught using a balance with one arm extended. In the center the false balance hanging from the steam clouds coming from the factory 'De Vijf Gebroeders' and on which chests of sugar are weighed. On the right C. de Bruyn with his two sons. In the clouds a Bible quote.
